Located on the banks of the beautiful Piracaia dam (São Paulo, Brazil), the Piracaia Residence was completed in 2014. Implanted in a vast land of 36,600 m² and 13% inclination, the house takes advantage of these characteristics to, through a cut in the land, connect itself with the landscape.
In metallic structure and with a reinforced concrete base, the house extends perpendicular to the ground to provide better use of the view in all its rooms. In the basement are located, the garage, service areas and technical. Above the basement are the social and intimate areas.
The 2-water metal roof fits over the metal frame and allows ventilation to cross over its entire length.
Led by Lua Nitsche and Pedro Nitsche, authors of the project, together with Miguel Maratá, structural engineer, the Piracaia Residence Course presents the design methodology of Nitsche Architects and Maratá Engenharia. In a chronological approach, which goes from the initial conception of the project to its construction, the development of this residence is approached through sketches, diagrams, renders, technical drawings and photographs to show you in a unique way the professional practice of this office.
